18 Month Stats and a Fluke
So we finally made it to Quinlin's 18 month well visit. Her stats- at 18 months, 16 days:
so she's still big- but getting taller- so not as short and plump looking. She did so good at her appointment! she performed on command, showed off all her body parts- even down to her teeth, jumped, etc. Her Dr said she's right where she should be. (It's funny because I look back and Owen was 25 lbs at that age- but also an inch shorter). She got a shot and we were on our way!
We came home and after our routine Dr visit/ Boston Market dinner, Quinlin was running around saying peepee, poopie. So I asked if she had to go potty and she ran right to the bathroom door. I sat her down using Owen's seat and before you know it- she pooped on the potty!
- weight- 28 lbs, 6 oz- 91%
- height- 32 1/4 in- 63%
- head- 46.8cm- 56%

ignore the nakedness and crazy hair (I took her pigtails out prior to this adventure)
I couldn't believe it. when done, she even moved her stool to wash her hands. Either this girl wants to be an overachiever or she's been watching Owen a lot. I definitely will not push... I think she's too young- even though books say they can start at 18 months. I think she needs to learn her body and be able to recognize not only the urge to go, but the ability to hold it in. With Owen, I don't have to ever ask him if he has to go- he just goes when he needs to. So- we'll see what this leads to. I wont be running out to buy new underpants just yet!

MIA
Things have been so busy for me work wise that my blogging has been taking a back seat. I have been out of the office a ton running errands, getting projects done, overseeing construction. I have been loving it and my day has been flying, I have just been slacking in keeping track of things going on personally.
We had a great weekend. Friday night we looked for homes for my mother in law. I brought her to the home I loved, but it was too small so off the list it went. We then saw another home in the area, but it didn't have a basement, so off the list it went. I have been so busy work wise, that I haven't even been looking to see what else is out there. After that, we had a sitter and went to dinner and then to the driving range. Saturday was our annual Mikeapalooza party. 3rd year in a row we have celebrated our buddy Mike's divorce. the day started with 18 holes of golf (scramble). I was one of 2 girls golfing- and did horribly but had fun. After golf, we went to my friend Kelli's house to shower and then off to Mike's house for a party. We had a blast- but I was absolutely beat. To be gone from 9am until 1am made for a long day. And I missed the kids. Sunday we were a complete waste. I think I slept half the day away. My parents came over to see the kids (took Hunter to see Harry Potter) and other than that, it was totally uneventful.
Today is finally Quinlin's 18 month well visit. I cannot wait to get her stats!

Happy Anniversary to Us!!!
4 years!!!! an amazing, amazing 4 years it has been! Happy anniversary to us! So- as I have mentioned before here, I didn't preserve my wedding dress and started the tradition of wearing it every year. It's amazing to look back and see how our family has grown and changed. A look back through the years...
Our wedding day 7/21/07
Our wedding day 7/21/07
1st anniversary (almost 7/12/08)
2nd anniversary 7/21/09
3rd anniversary 7/21/10
and now our 4th anniversary 7/21/11
I was looking forward to throwing my dress on all day.Fingers crossed that it would fit- and it did. we posed for our family pictures- though was missing Hunter who was in Michigan with his Grandma Carolyn. Hopefully next year he can join us in our photos. The family isn't complete without him.
Owen loved the veil- again.
We posed for pictures and then headed out to our usual anniversary dinner at Flemings. For the past 3 years we have gone there to celebrate and for the past 3 years have sat at the same table.
We had a nice dinner and then did a little shopping. the perfect end to our night. Thank you to Aunt Jen for watching our crazy kids!
This post actually goes really well with Kellys Korner Show Us Your Life Series. The topic this week is best wedding advice. We're obviously no experts, being that we've only been married 4 years (though together for 6) but I will say this... I truly married my best friend. We have so much love and respect for each other. We listen to what the other says, we care how the other truly feels and we talk. And the best? We laugh. Boy do we laugh. I have always said I will never have frown lines because Sean makes me smile every day. I am truly, the luckiest girl and very, very blessed.

Updates
So- Tuesday was a stressful turned not stressful day. The plan for the day was to go to work, leave at 2:30, pick up my kids from daycare, go to my friend Kelley's parents house where we would see our friend Michelle and her husband Chad who was in town visiting from Seattle (he's on Army leave), then run to Quinlin's 5:30 18 month well visit, then meet Sean's siblings over at a house that my friend Megan and I liked for Sean's parents at 7pm.
The day didn't turn out as planned. That morning, I got a text from Kelley saying her basement flooded at their house and she had to go there and clean up so to get the new plan from our friend Amanda in regards to Michelle's visit. Amanda was working during the day so wasn't going to see Michelle until 4:30. So- I knew it didn't make sense to drive down there and chalked it up to not seeing them this time through. So- I worked my normal time until 3:30 and grabbed my kids at 4 and we came home for about an hour or so. Just as we were about to leave the house, I checked the answering machine and we received a message that Quinlin's appointment was cancelled due to her doctor being sick. grrrr... thank god I checked the messages- I don't always do that. So- instead of heading to the appointment and getting our dinner at Boston Market (we love eating there and there isn't one close to our house so our tradition has been to grab dinner after each doctor's visit), we popped a digiorno pizza in the oven and hung around at home.
We were overly eager to see the house again and pulled into the house appointment with 20 minutes to spare. Thank goodness I saw the current home owners leave. The house is absolutely adorable. It's on a somewhat main street, but tucked back in the woods on a drive way that is probably about 1/4 mile long. You cannot hear the traffic at all and the 2.4 acres is a nice retreat for Sean's parents. We walked through the house with the realtor, Sean's brother's family and Sean's sister. Everyone really liked it, but it does slope down a bit and Sean's brother was really concerned about water/ flooding issues. He has every right to be leery of it- especially after dealing with water issues in his own house- and I don't know the first thing about that kind of stuff. So- we were there about an hour and a half and we left slightly discouraged. We are going back on Friday with Sean's parents to see it one more time. If she likes it and thinks it's the one, we'll look into the inspections, etc to see if it is anything to worry about. It sounds like the homeowners are willing to do whatever it takes to get it sold, so hopefully any worries can be addressed and fixed.
and lastly... today is our anniversary. 4 years!!!! so- guess what I get to do tonight? Prance around in my wedding dress!!! will post pictures and an update tomorrow!

African Safari Wildlife Park
This weekend we went to the African Safari Wildlife Park. I had always heard of it but never gone, so was excited when we woke up one morning and Sean brought it up. We got the kids ready and I tried to make them pose for photos:
This dude freaked me out. I was so busy watching Sean out of his window and I turned, and all of a sudden this animal was in my face.
yeah- our car needs a good bath afterwards.... this is what is left from the Buffalo (gross).
The photos were not working so we hopped in the car and drove to the park. It is near Sandusky- so took us about an hour and a half (maybe a little less to get there). Oh my goodness it was so fun! The animals just come up to your car and you feed them. They give you a free cup of feed and carrots, but we bought extras as well. Next time we go, we'll bring our own carrots.

and the buffalo- were BIG!
Owen warmed up to the idea of them. was a little freaked out at first.
After the drive through safari, we picnicked at the park and then walked around in the little mini zoo area. We saw ducks.
and monkeys
and porcupines.

They also had camel rides, pony rides and pig races. Such a fun place that I cannot wait to go back to!

Weekend Recap
We had such a good weekend. Friday afternoon I went with my friend Megan, who's a realtor, and scoped out homes for my in-laws. They live just under 2 hours away from us and are looking to move closer. I went last week with my MIL and looked at homes and we saw some other properties on Friday. I absolutely loved one. It had the feel she is going for, the land, the privacy. The home was redone as well, so she would just need to move in and maybe paint. Friday night, we stayed in. Hunter got picked up to go to the U.P (Michigan) for the week so it ended up being a low-key night.
Saturday morning we woke up and went to the African Safari Wildlife Park. I will do more of an in-depth post about it tomorrow. It was so fun.
Sneak Peak photo:
and 3 really cute tops from Ann Taylor (though I cant post the pics).
Sunday was low key- Sam's Club, grocery shopping and laundry. It was a great weekend!

We got home late Saturday afternoon and just relaxed for the night. we were playing with the neighbors and my friend Kerri mentioned going to the mall to shop. So- I joined her. I got some really cute tops from Old Navy and Ann Taylor- and used gift cards- so spent no money out of pocket. Pays to have saved my Christmas gifts until now! I bought:
