Working From Home

This past week was crazy at work. Construction started on my office yesterday so I have to work from home until the office is complete. I cannot wait for my new space. I loved that I got to help design it based off of what I wanted and needed. I had input into my furniture, cabintery, set-up, etc. I am very much looking forward to getting settled in there. I wish I would have taken a before picture of the space.

Working from home will be challenging today- Owen is home sick. We'll see how it goes!

It's been a while...

Geez- It's been a while since I have posted... I wanted to stay on top of my posts as more of a journal for me and what we have been up to but I guess when you miss a few days. the days/weeks start blending together.

Let's see if I can come up with some recaps. The first weekend of June was pretty busy. That Saturday, I went to Aurora for a mini baby shower for Melissa. I should have known not to bring the babies during what would be naptime. They both fell asleep on the way over (you seriously would have thought we were driving for hours the way they passed out). Once we got there, I brought them in but went back to my car to get my gift, appetizer, etc. I came back to have found that Owen fell out of the front door trying to come after me. He had a nice gash inside his mouth and his lip was purple. I felt horrible. I tried to soothe him but he was whiny and when he was finally calm, Q felt the need to chime in upset as well. It did not go well. I think I stayed maybe 40 minutes (if that). I didnt even get to enjoy my chipotle. I decided to leave because I thought it would have been easier on everyone- no crying babies, no bitchy mama, etc. So- we drove off, I was in a pissed off mood, felt like a bad parent, felt sorry for myself, etc. Came home and tried to shake it off. We all took naps and afterwards, I felt like a new person.

That night we went to Farhenheit with a great group- Jimmy and Tanya, Kelli and Zach (he got red carded so wasnt allowed to travel with his team to NY so got to come to Cleveland for the weekend), Sawsan and Mike, Matt and Kerry and Melanie. Dinner was great- I got the tomato and mozzarella salad and the steak and potatoes. Sean got the kobe ribs. We enjoyed it but the bill was expensive (worked out to about $120/couple) so we would probably only go back on special occassions. Afterwards we went to the Flying Monkey. Really a fun night!

Nothing eventful happened this past week. Quinlin turned 5 months (wont do a dear Quinlin letter, but she is now flipping all around in her crib or on the floor, gets stuck in all different locations from where you leave her, fully rolls to her stomach from her back, size 2 diapers, 3-6 month/6 month clothes and talks a ton). We tried her out in her jumparoo this week. It was the cutest thing to see her trying to figure it out. Owen also has been having fun with her in it trying to "teach" her what to do. I have a great teeny video snippet but am having problems loading it. Hopefully blogger will let me load it soon.

This was actually him trying to give her the binky back. He kept saying "ouhim" because that's the sound he makes when he wants his... so cute!

This past weekend was ok. Hunter went to Florida/Cruise with my parents to the Bahamas and Puerto Rico. I think he was excited to go. I miss him already.

Sean had his vasectomy. It all went well. I was very unsure prior to him having it done, but I have come to peace with it. We dont want any more kids...and I'm sure if we had to have another, we could reverse or somehow make it happen.

Quinlin took a spill yesterday from her car seat to the tile floor in the kitchen. I placed her in so I could make her cereal and came back to her arching out of it and landing about 2.5 feet to the tile floor. She screamed for about a minute and calmed down and was happy as a clam the rest of the night. But I was on pins and needles while she slept. I dont know what I would have done if something happened to her. On the flip side...she slept all night.

This morning started with me backing into our basketball hoop. Lovely that I now have a large scratch on the side of the Pilot. Needless to say, I have an appointment booked at Sunnyside this afternoon...

Memorial Day Weekend 2010

We had such a great weekend. I cant believe its over and I'm already back to sitting in front of the computer. On Friday, I left work at 1pm (early dismissal) and headed home to meet Sean. We went to Cozumel for lunch and sat out on the back patio. So nice to have a little date! By the time we were done with lunch, we came home and met Hunter who just came home from school and grabbed our clubs and went to the driving range. So fun! Me and two of my favorite boys. Came home and had a visit from my parents who wanted to see the kids before we left town. We hung out that night with the neighbors. I will say, I love watching owen play with the neighbor kids and socializing with everyone while drinking a few cocktails in the drive way. We really do love the people (most of them) in the neighborhood. Owen wasnt quite acting like himself though and we couldnt figure out why. He kept wanting to climb into the stroller for walks and even when we would stroll him back, he didnt want to get out and play. We didnt think anything of it, until he woke up at 12:30am after throwing up in his bed. Poor thing. After getting him resituated, bed stripped, everything in the laundry, I think we were back to bed by 2 and wouldnt you know it, Quinlin wanted to hang out. I had to keep going down the hall to give her the binky and she would laugh and laugh. I'm glad she thought it was funny. I did not.

Saturday we debated about going to the farm but Owen was acting fine so we packed everyone up and got down there about noon. It was great. We hung out, Sean fished, the kids played in the kiddie pool (though it took Owen about an hour to decide if he was going to go in it or not). It was so much fun to see them interact with Gracie. I cannot wait until they all play together (and actually know they are playing together).

Sunday we hung out and then Sean, Hunter and I went to a little golf course near the farm (par 3) and golfed 9. It was my first time out for the year and Hunter only beat me by 5 strokes. Not too bad if you ask me. I think I have the bug now because I cannot wait until we go out again. Though- I hope if I ever golf a 68 again, it will be for a round of 18. Ha! We got home about 8:30 Sunday night.

Monday we went to Megan and Mitch's and hung out for the afternoon and had a BBQ. Good times. Dylan got hurt and broke his arm (scratch that- Orthopedist diagnosed it as nursemaid elbow) so mor elike a dislocation. Quinlin did great until the poor thing was laying on the floor, minding her own business when Owen rammed a car down the coffee table that went straight to her face. She shrieked like I have never heard her before and cried so hard I think she forgot to breathe for a moment. Poor thing- she'll be one tough cookie though from living with Owen! Such a terror. He didnt get a nap in (aside from the car ride) so we took him home and let him sleep until about 5:45. Bad idea. He was so cranky that come 7pm, we had him back in bed. The thunderstorms didnt help him sleeping and woke up thinking it was play time at about 8pm. Sean is such a softie too, he pulled him out of bed and let him play. I think about 10pm, he finally went to bed. Meanwhile, I watched Up in the Air (George Clooney). It was a really good movie- glad I saw it, though I was a little confused about the ending... I still dont think i know what happens? Sent back the netflix today. i think next on our list is the Blindside.

And back at work today... at least summer hours start and I do need to make a run to Pottery Barn to look for a couch for my boss's office, so hopefully only a few hours left until I leave today. Pictures from this weekend to follow once I get them off the camera.
