The bathroom shoe incident

So- on top of the awful yucko day that I had with Hunter on Monday, I got a call from the daycare saying they needed me to bring up another pair of shoes because owen stepped in poop in the bathroom. I get the call and his teacher says "I have a predicament... Owen was in the bathroom and there was poop all over and it's on his shoe. can you bring him a new pair?"

so I drive to the school with a pair too big for him and start talking to the teacher. I asked how he could have gotten poop on his shoe. My first question "was it his poop?" and she said "I think so. There was poop in the urinal and when I asked him about it he got really quiet". So I was like- Oh- my kid pooped in the urinal? and she nodded. so embarrassing. It hadn't hit me until right then that my precious angel would do such a thing. LOL

We asked Owen about it when we picked him up. He said he had to go and knew he wouldn't make it to the toilet and his pants were already down. OMG. he's such a boy.

And- to top it all off, he got rewarded, as the shoes I brought him were a pair that I had set aside to grow into, so I needed to run to the store and buy him new everyday shoes (no, I was not going to scrub poop off his shoes).

Diagnosis: Abdominal Migraines

Hunter woke up Sunday night just before midnight not feeling well. He started throwing up at 4:20 and threw up 12 more times by 7:30am. I called nurse on call, was sent to the local hospital pediatric emergency room and he threw up twice more on the way there and once more in the room.

He was given morphine, zofran, pepcid and an iv.

we left the er and got home around noon where he was still in pain and threw up again. So- we went to his pediatrician at 3:45 and she was surprised the hospital didn't just admit him for the day/night. She gave me the choice to send him back to make him comfortable or to try and see if another dose of zofran would help. we went with the zofran (2 shots) for immediate relief. My poor little guy. he went home and slept. what an ordeal. worse feeling of helplessness knowing there is nothing you can do. He stayed home from school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

when we left the er our papers said he was diagnosed with vomiting. Ok. I'm pretty sure without a medical degree I could have told them that. assclowns. And- vomiting is a symptom, not a diagnosis.

After being examined by the pediatrician and researching her diagnosis, we think he needs to see a pediatric gastroenterologist because he has episodes like this every so often. My pediatrician thinks it could be migraine related (some people get migraine headaches, some people the migraine presents itself in the stomach).

It's so crazy to think this is something he could deal with for the rest of his life.

Wordless Wednesday- First Haircut

I took Quinlin over the weekend to finally attempt to get her crazy hair under control.

Before the cut
 The crazy back
sitting in the chair like a big girl
confused by the spray bottle of water

It was so long! but you never would know it!
 all done!
embracing the curls!
 the finished product!
She did awesome and was so excited to be pampered. it doesn't look much different because we had to keep it short since her hair is growing in at all different lengths. But it was a fun experience for her. I really think maybe I'll have my girly girl after all!

I was meant to have a girl

I always wanted two boys and a girl. I just knew I needed a little girl, someone to play mommy, someone to play with barbies, and someone who enjoyed pampering. We painted our nails over the weekend. She was so excited!!!

And this weekend? Our first hair appointment- at my salon. I cannot wait to see how she will do!

Funny Things said

So I don't forget...

Owen was acting out one day and was genuinely being whiny and bad. Sean told him if he kept acting that way, he was no longer going to be Owen Patrick (our last name). He promptly told him that his new name would be Daniel Chalooka. Owen quickly burst into tears and begged to remain a part of our family.

Little did we know that telling him we'd take away his name would work so well. Who would have thought?

Weekend Recap

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend. Friday was a slow day at work and my boss let me leave early so I headed out about 3:30pm. I came home and watched the episode of Grey's Anatomy from the night before and then Sean and I headed out to pick the kids up from school and out to dinner. Hunter didn't feel that great so he opted to stay home. We went to Winking Lizard, the kids loved it and we were happy as they were well behaved and ate a ton. New place to add to our list of places they will do well at. We went to my in-laws to play and hang out. It's fun now that my BIL and SIL are there with their two kids while their home is being built. I feel like I can love on my niece and nephew more than I would have before.

Saturday morning we skipped tumbling and opted for a stress free morning. Went to a first birthday party and then just hung out at home with my piles of laundry.

Sunday morning we went to a baby shower and then low key until the evening. Dinner was at a new restaurant, Cowell & Hubbard and it was fantastic. We then saw Tosh in a live show and he was hilarious. We got to bed about 12:30am. Needless to say I am dragging a bit.

These weekends go too fast!

P90X the toddler edition

Hunter and Sean have been doing P90X. I am so proud of them- they've been very dedicated to doing it- and it's a nice bonding activity for them to do together.

Owen and Quinlin wanted to get in the mix as well. Doing the Ab Workout (look at both of their legs when compared to the tv screen- so funny).

Love

Easter night, my kids were dressed and ready for bed when they nabbed a bag of Milano cookies and decided to huddle in my bedroom floor eating them. I thought they were hilarious so had to grab a few pictures. The faces make me laugh... and then Owen said the sweetest thing.

"I want to marry Quinny" he said. I just love what a sweet brother he is.

Holiday in Pictures- Wordless Wednesday Edition

We had a great holiday weekend celebrating both Easter and Passover. My sister came to town and stopped over my house to see the kids, in their usual undressed glory.
I even managed to get in the picture for once...

It's been a long time since I've been able to get all 3 of them to sit together.
Off to my aunt's and the clothes came off.

Easter morning we woke up and the kids searched for their baskets.

I don't know why I didn't take pictures of them at my in-laws for the holiday. They had a blast and on the drive home were whooped.

We must remember that 15 is not too old to get an Easter basket.... I did feel bad, I think Hunter felt a bit left out. We let him sleep in Sunday morning and when he woke, the baskets were all broken in to and candy already started to be eaten. Mommy fail... even when the baby isn't a baby anymore.

Apparantly I think I am a teenage girl

I must be a teenage girl trapped in my 35 year old body because I suddenly seem to have a huge crush on Zac Efron. I can't believe I just admitted that. The preview for his new movie The Lucky One looks amazing.
God he looks sexy! OMG- admitting that again. Now to find some girlfriends to go with me when it comes out... I don't think it will be hard to find some. We saw the preview when we went to see Friends with Kids and I think every single one of us had our mouths dropped during the shower scene. Swoon.

Ok enough. Last teenage girl confession... I like the new Justin Bieber song Boyfriend.

Tell me I am not alone.
