Family Vacation, Day 5- The Zoo

Tuesday, June 26

We purposely did the kiddie park on Monday to avoid the zoo crowds that tend to happen there on Mondays (free to members of the County with proof of ID) so scheduled our zoo day for Tuesday. We should have turned around when we had to park in the very last lot, with about 3 rows to go until there were no more spots. It was so crowded. The weather was perfect, low 70's and sunny and I think everyone and there mom had the same idea about going to the zoo. I felt though, that we didnt get to see much. Kind of a waste this time for us, so hoping to go again and have a better experience.

Of course, the day started in tears...

Family Vacation- Day 4, Memphis Kiddie Park

Monday, June 25

We decided to plan a fun little outing to Memphis Kiddie Park in honor of our first "work day" that we had off with the kids. We met my brother in law and his family there so the kids could ride the rides together. We had a blast! Though sadly, I am looking through my pictures and didn't get any of my nephew. He was too little to ride the rides and stayed in his stroller the whole time. Will be fun to do this with them next year when he can play too.

Family Vacation, Day 3

Sunday, June 24

Our third day of vacation was very mellow. We played a little outside and then went to my in-laws house to celebrate my Father In Law's birthday and my niece's birthday who turned 3. He has been getting sicker and sicker with the dimentia and the alzheimer's and it's hard to see him in the state that he is. I know the kids do not understand it and I actually felt bad for my Mother In Law that it's most likely about time that he may need to go into a nursing home. She provides as good of care that she can for him, but the time seems to be fast approaching that he may need more. They are meeting in a week to find out what can be done for him. In the meantime, pictures of cuteness.

Family Vacation 2012- day 2, Part II- The Boat

Saturday, June 23

After our much needed naps, we decided to venture out on the new boat for the first time with the kids. Quinlin did not seem to sure of it at first...

Family Vacation 2012- days 1 and 2

We took last week off and planned a family vacation/ staycation. The goal was to have good family time with the kids, whether it be staying local or venturing out. I will blog about our activities daily, just so I have a good record of our time spent. Mostly pictures I guess of all. Hunter was gone in Florida with my parents so we had a very lowkey and mellow first few days...

Friday, June 22
Started with a milestone. A skirt and her hair in a pony tail??? success!

I worked a half day and then we had the kids at the neighbors and had a nice BBQ while all the kids played.

We brought out the sparklers.

We had such a good time...but stayed out entirely way too late. Baseball the next day was a slight disaster.

Saturday, June 23

Owen had no urge to want to play. I even, at one point, remember running the bases with him as he was in tears not wanting to be there.

And Quinlin was in tears about not wanting to be there either...
